UPDATE : Raspberry Pi CNC Challenge Update
Hi everyone…
I’m looking for help here. I am trying to improve the Raspberry Pi CNC board.
I am willing to give away 10 pre-released Raspberry Pi CNC boards with the following new features:
- Extra Stepper Socket which can be cloned to any of the other 3 axes.(Dual stepper axis)
- Signal Filters on the end-stops to make them super easy to operate.
- All signal pins broken out for use with external stepper drivers.
- We are now an official GRBL sponsor and added the “Powered by GRBL” logo to it.
In return I need your valuable feedback and if possible a write-up on Instructables.com demonstrating your project for others to admire and learn from.
One last note, the board does not include the Raspberry Pi or the Stepper drivers. (The people receiving the boards will have to know the basics of setting up a Raspberry and operating a CNC machine.)
If you are up to the challenge , send us your details including a few projects you worked on. [ info a.t. protoneer . co .nz ]
Wiki Page on the current release of the board is available here : http://wiki.protoneer.co.nz/Raspberry_Pi_CNC
I have one of your arduino cnc boards and i think its great. I have always wanted to try out one of your pi powered boards and i have a few machines to hook one up to. Just finished a reply email and i think this is awesome…
I could do this. Lots of people have liked my previous write up for your 100% GRBL compatible CNC Controller board along with Raspberry Pi and Alamode boards. I have been thinking about building a new controller to go along with mu new mill and lathe. Have you looked at the RPi Zero board yet? Pretty interesting.

Bertus,
I have one of these boards you sent me to use in my CNC lathe build. I am up to the part where I install it (Lathe it built). I am having trouble downloading your OS for it. When I go to the google site, it tells me it is too big for them to “scan for viruses.” I tell it to download anyway. I get a .zip file and try to de-compress it. It gets hung-up and I’m not sure if I am getting the whole IMG file…
Hi. Sorry for the late reply. Did you mange to get it going? (I created a forum for these kind of discussions : forum.protoneer.co.nz)
