A few weeks ago I wrote about the Crazyflie, an all in one Quadcopter designed on a single printed circuit board(PCB).
This is a very versatile platform that is open for modifications and improvements. The easiest upgrade to start with will be to upgrade the battery pack.
The stock battery is a 170mAh with C rating of 25-50. Depending on what you are aiming for we have a few options…
For performance I would recommend the following battery:
At 260mAh and 35-70 C it offers a bit more lift at full power.
For a replacement or a longer lasting option I would recommend the following battery:
It has almost double the mAh rating of the standard battery making it very useful for longer flights.
Both of the above batteries are single cell or 3.7v Li-Polymer batteries and will work with little or no modifications to the Quadcopter.
These batteries also offer the option of USB charging. The twin charger is very useful and can charge batteries from a laptop, PC or any standard USB power source.
Some of the items above might need some solder work, but if you can assemble the Crazyflie you should be able to do the mods.
